Dealing with my Anxiety

ANXIETY – It’s funny how the mind works. We can be very happy in our relationships, jobs and life matters yet somehow anxiety will work itself in some days, having you feel uneasy and even lost.

As happy or healthy as we can be, life stresses and challenges are always presenting themselves, making us anxious and our minds running non-stop.

I do my best to practice a number of mindful practices especially when I’m under more stress than usual. I combine this with a relaxing and calming tea blend that taken regularly throughout the day when anxiety is high, will help subside the anxiety fairly quickly.

I first start off my day with a daily gratitude ritual. Either write in my gratitude journal (View blog post “Gratitude Journal” or I count my blessings mentally in the morning to start the right momentum.

Secondly, throughout the day, I try to take grounding breaks. I take a few moments to pay attention to my senses. Something I see, something I hear and something I feel. Repeating this a few times. This always brings me back to the present moment when I only have a few moments to spare in my busy day. This has helped me among the most during some of my worst days of high anxiety and panic attacks and stopping snowball effects in their tracks.

Another important thing I practice daily is prayer. Prayer to me is very important for your purpose and soul. Prayer is a form of meditation because it also makes you very present.

One more thing I absolutely love to regularly enjoy during these stressful times is a tea blend of 4 herbs, all of which are great for relaxation in different ways.

1 part Lemon Balm

1 part Skullcap

1 part Chamomile

1 part St Johns Wort.

Infuse 1 tbsp to 1 cup of boiling water, cover and stand for at least 15 minutes, strain. I make this blend into a tea and take it 3- 4 times daily. Within a few cups, my anxiety has significantly lowered, and I feel myself relax and releasing much tension and stress.

I will definitely share more practices I implement throughout my day, but these are the important ones that I consistently practice especially during the days when my anxiety was the worst and hardest for me to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I hope these can be useful for you, as they did wonders for me.
